According to that report and PDSI’s official announcement, the company plans to introduce Groundbreaker Hydrangea and Living Creations Hydrangea to North America in 2027 with a total of 16 new varieties.
The Groundbreaker collection is built around a low-growing groundcover form of Hydrangea paniculata. According to the official description, the plants reach about 1 foot tall and 2 feet wide, targeting compact gardens, borders, mass plantings, and other spaces where conventional panicle hydrangeas may not fit.
For Groundbreaker, Blush and Ruby are listed for liner availability in 2027, while Greeny is listed for 2028. The three varieties are described as suited to full sun to partial shade and USDA Zones 5–8, with bloom from July through September.
Living Creations Hydrangea is presented as a Hydrangea paniculata collection with award recognition in Europe. Its North American launch lineup consists of 14 varieties, from Living Candy Love to Living Little Apple, with strong stems, extended bloom, and winter resilience highlighted as key traits.
PDSI said liners of the two brands will be available for sampling and purchase beginning in January 2027 through the company and designated brokers. Broader retail distribution is scheduled to expand in 2028.
The announcement broadens supply options for space-saving woody shrubs and long-display panicle hydrangeas in the North American landscape and garden market. However, the confirmed information is limited to the variety introduction and liner availability plan; regional retail timing and pricing have not been disclosed.
