Growth Characteristics- Growth Habit: It is a medium-sized shrubby rose that reaches a height of approximately 60–80 cm when fully grown. - Flowers: It blooms primarily from summer to autumn and features a vivid red color. The flowers are medium-sized and have a weak fragrance. - Leaves: They are dark green, glossy, and relatively dense. - Tolerance: It exhibits excellent disease and cold tolerance, allowing it to thrive in a variety of climatic conditions. Propagation Methods- Cuttings: During the growing season (usually spring or early summer), select a healthy stem, cut it to a length of about 10–15 cm, and propagate it as a cutting. - Grafting: Seedlings can be used as rootstock. Prepare rose rootstock and attach the 'Rotilia' scion to it for cultivation. Cultivation Method - Soil: Well-drained soil rich in organic matter is suitable. - Sunlight: A location receiving at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day is ideal. - Watering: Water thoroughly when the soil becomes dry, taking care to ensure good drainage. - Fertilizer: Apply an appropriate amount of liquid fertilizer or rose-specific fertilizer throughout spring and summer. - Pruning: Light pruning in winter or early spring maintains the shape and improves aeration. Uses in the Garden - With its showy flowers and strong vitality, it is suitable for garden borders, hedges, or display flowerbeds. It can also be mixed with other perennials to create unique landscaping. Major Pests and Diseases & Control Methods - Black Spot: A disease causing black spots on the leaves. To prevent this, plant in a well-ventilated location, and use an antimicrobial agent if it occurs. - Powdery Mildew: A disease causing leaves to turn white. Control it by spraying an appropriate fungicide in the early stages of the disease. - Aphids and Mites: Inspect the plants periodically; if found, wash with soap and water or apply an appropriate insecticide. The 'Rotilia' rose is beautiful in itself, but with proper care and pest control, you can enjoy it in a healthier state for a longer period.
