Bidens tripartita
Bidens tripartita is an annual plant belonging to the Asteraceae family that primarily grows in humid areas. This plant typically grows to a height of 30 to 60 cm, and its leaves are elongated and divided into three lobes. Small yellow flowers bloom from summer to autumn, and its hook-shaped seeds disperse easily to other locations. Propagation is mainly done by seeds; once mature, the seeds fall naturally to grow new plants. To propagate by seeds, you can sow them directly after the ground thaws in the spring, or sow them in pots indoors and transplant them. Seeds should be sown shallowly away from direct sunlight, and it is recommended to thin them out to maintain appropriate spacing after germination. For cultivation, it is most effective to grow it in well-drained soil. Caution is required, as root rot may occur in locations with poor drainage. It thrives in sunny spots and requires frequent watering. However, overwatering should be avoided, and it generally does not require special fertilizer. In gardens, it can be used as a flower bed or border plant, and it is suitable for planting near wetlands or pond edges. It is useful for creating a natural garden environment by harmonizing with other plants. Major pests include aphids, which can inhibit plant growth in severe cases. Control methods include washing them off with water or using eco-friendly insecticides. Regular observation and maintenance are essential to effectively prevent pests. Although Gamaksari tripartita is relatively easy to care for, it has a strong natural reproductive capacity, so proper management considering the surrounding environment is required. Due to its excellent reproductive ability, it is advisable to remove seeds in advance to avoid unwanted spread.
